What Location Tracking Does

  • Captures GPS when appointments start/end
  • Verifies staff is at client location
  • Creates location history for EVV compliance
  • Optional breadcrumb tracking during appointments

EVV Requirements

Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) requires:

  • Location capture at appointment start
  • Location capture at appointment end
  • Timestamp with each capture
  • Verification against client address

Organization-Wide Settings

Accessing Settings

  1. Go to SettingsTeam & Compliance
  2. Click Location & EVV tab

Per-Team Member Settings

Customize tracking per individual:

Accessing Individual Settings

  1. Go to Team → Select team member
  2. Click Location tab

Individual Options

When to Customize

  • Supervisors who visit multiple sites

Bulk Settings

Update multiple team members at once:

  1. Go to SettingsTeam & Compliance
  2. Click Location & EVVTeam Members
  3. Select team members
  4. Click Bulk Update
  5. Choose setting to change
  6. Apply

Geofencing

How It Works

  1. Staff taps "Start Appointment"
  2. App captures GPS location
  3. System compares to client address
  4. If within radius: ✓ Verified
  5. If outside: Warning or blocked

Viewing Location Data

Per Appointment

  1. Open appointment details
  2. Click Location tab
  3. See:
    • Start location (map pin)
    • End location (map pin)
    • Distance from client
    • Breadcrumb trail (if enabled)

Compliance Reports

  1. Go to ReportsLocation Verification
  2. See:
    • % of appointments with GPS
    • Failed verifications
    • Override usage

Troubleshooting Location Issues

"Location Not Available"

On mobile app:

  1. Check device GPS is enabled
  2. Check app has location permission
  3. Restart app
  4. Move outdoors (better signal)

"Outside Geofence"

  • Verify client address is correct
  • Check staff is at right location
  • Increase geofence radius if needed
  • Use override for legitimate exceptions

GPS Consistently Wrong

  • Device GPS may be faulty
  • Consider disabling for this team member
  • Document exception

Tips

  • Start with "Warn" mode — Strict blocking frustrates staff
  • Set reasonable radius — 500 ft works for most
  • Update addresses — Keep client locations current
  • Train staff — Explain why tracking matters
