Learn your way around the CareCade app to find everything you need quickly. This guide covers the main screens and how to move between them.


Main Navigation

The app has five main tabs at the bottom of the screen:

Tap any tab to switch to that section.

Home Screen

The Home screen gives you a quick overview:

Today's Summary

  • Number of appointments today
  • Total scheduled hours
  • Next upcoming appointment

Quick Actions

  • Clock In (when you're at an appointment)
  • View Schedule
  • Recent Clients
  • Messages (unread count)

Notifications

Recent alerts and updates appear here:

  • Schedule changes
  • New messages
  • Reminders
  • Announcements from your organization

Schedule Screen

Your complete appointment schedule:

Views

  • Day - Single day with times
  • Week - Full week overview
  • List - All upcoming appointments

Navigation

  • Swipe left/right to change days
  • Tap a date to jump to it
  • Use arrows to move week by week

Appointment Cards

Each appointment shows:

  • Client name
  • Time
  • Location
  • Status (scheduled, in progress, completed)

Tap an appointment to see details and take actions.

Clients Screen

Access information about your assigned clients:

Client List

  • Alphabetically sorted
  • Shows client photo and name
  • Indicates your next appointment with them

Client Profile

Tap a client to see:

  • Contact information
  • Address and location
  • Care preferences
  • Special notes
  • Your upcoming appointments with them

Search

Use the search bar to quickly find a client by name.

Chat Screen

Stay connected with your team:

Conversations

  • Individual chats with team members
  • Group conversations
  • Messages from administrators

Features

  • Send text messages
  • Share photos
  • Receive announcements
  • See who's online

Unread messages show a badge on the Chat tab.

Settings Screen

Manage your account and app preferences:

Profile

  • Your photo
  • Contact information
  • Working hours

Preferences

  • Notification settings
  • App appearance
  • Language

Security

  • Change password
  • Biometric login
  • Privacy settings

About

  • App version
  • Help and support
  • Terms and policies

Common Actions

Pull to Refresh

On most screens, pull down to refresh the data and get the latest updates.

Back Navigation

  • Tap the arrow in the top left
  • Or swipe from the left edge
  • On Android, use the system back button

Search

Look for the search icon (magnifying glass) at the top of list screens to find items quickly.

Filters

Many lists have filters:

  • Tap the filter icon
  • Select your criteria
  • Apply to narrow results

More Options

The three-dot menu (⋮) or (...) provides additional actions for items and screens.

Notifications

When something important happens:

In-App Notifications

  • Appear at the top of the screen
  • Tap to go to the related item
  • Swipe away to dismiss

Push Notifications

  • Appear when the app is closed
  • Tap to open the app to that item
  • Manage in Settings → Notifications

Badge Counts

  • Red circles on tab icons
  • Show number of unread items
  • Clear when you view the items

Tips for Quick Navigation

Recent Items

The Home screen shows your recent clients and appointments for quick access.

Favorites

Star frequently-accessed items to find them faster.

Calendar Widget (iOS)

Add a widget to see today's schedule without opening the app.

Quick Clock-In

From any screen, upcoming appointments appear in the top bar when it's time to clock in.

Accessibility

The app supports accessibility features:

Text Size

  • Go to Settings → Accessibility
  • Adjust text size
  • Changes apply throughout the app

Voice Control

The app works with iOS VoiceOver and Android TalkBack.

High Contrast

Enable high contrast mode for better visibility:

  • Settings → Accessibility → High Contrast

Getting Help

If you can't find something:

  1. Use the search feature
  2. Check the Home screen for quick actions
  3. Look in Settings for account options
  4. Contact your administrator for assistance
