Stay informed about schedule changes, messages, and important updates with CareCade notifications. Configure them to get the alerts you need without being overwhelmed.
Types of Notifications
Schedule Notifications
- New appointments added
- Appointment changes
- Appointment reminders

Message Notifications
- New chat messages
- Team announcements
- Messages from administrators
Clock In/Out Reminders
- Reminder to clock in
- Reminder to clock out
- Missed clock-in alerts
Document Notifications
- Document due reminders
- Credential expiration warnings
- Training completion reminders
Enabling Notifications
On iPhone (iOS)
- Open your phone's Settings
- Scroll down and tap CareCade
- Tap Notifications
- Toggle Allow Notifications on
- Customize alert style:
- Lock Screen
- Notification Center
- Banners
- Enable Sounds and Badges as desired
On Android
- Open Settings
- Tap Apps or Applications
- Find and tap CareCade
- Tap Notifications
- Toggle Allow notifications on
- Configure notification categories as desired
In-App Notification Settings
Customize which notifications you receive:
- Open CareCade app
- Go to Settings → Notifications
- Toggle each notification type on or off
Schedule Alerts
| Setting | Description |

| New Appointments | When you're assigned a new appointment |
| Schedule Changes | When appointment times change |
| Cancellations | When appointments are cancelled |
| Daily Summary | Morning summary of today's schedule |
Reminders

Reminder Timing
Set when you want reminders:
- Go to Settings → Notifications → Reminder Timing
- Configure:
- Appointment Reminder - 15 min, 30 min, 1 hour, or 2 hours before
- Clock-In Reminder - 5 min or 15 min before
- Clock-Out Reminder - At appointment end time or 5 min after
Do Not Disturb
Setting Quiet Hours
Prevent notifications during certain times:
- Go to Settings → Notifications → Quiet Hours
- Enable Quiet Hours
- Set start time (e.g., 10:00 PM)
- Set end time (e.g., 7:00 AM)
- Save
During quiet hours:
- Notifications are silenced
- They still appear when you check the app
- Emergency alerts may still come through (if configured)
Quick Do Not Disturb
For immediate silence:
- Go to Settings → Notifications
- Tap Do Not Disturb
- Choose duration: 1 hour, 2 hours, Until tomorrow
- Tap to activate
Notification Sounds
Changing Notification Sound
- Go to Settings → Notifications → Sound
- Choose from available sounds
- Tap a sound to preview
- Select your preferred sound
Different Sounds for Different Alerts
Some devices allow custom sounds per notification type:
- Use your phone's notification settings
- Set unique sounds for:
- Schedule alerts (e.g., chime)
- Messages (e.g., ping)
- Urgent alerts (e.g., alarm tone)
Badge Counts
The red number on the app icon shows unread items:
- Go to Settings → Notifications → Badge Count
- Choose what to count:
- Unread messages only
- All pending notifications
- None
Managing Notification History
Viewing Past Notifications
- Go to Home screen
- Tap the bell icon at the top
- Scroll through recent notifications
- Tap any notification to view details
Clearing Notifications
- Single: Swipe left on a notification, tap Dismiss
- All: Tap Clear All at the top of the notification list
Troubleshooting
Not Receiving Notifications
Check phone settings:
- Verify CareCade has notification permission
- Check that Do Not Disturb is off
- Ensure Battery Saver isn't blocking notifications
- Check app isn't restricted in background
Check app settings:
- Verify the notification type is enabled
- Check Quiet Hours aren't active
- Make sure you're logged in to the app
Delayed Notifications
- Check your internet connection
- Ensure the app has background refresh permission
- Some Android phones delay notifications to save battery
- Check phone's battery optimization settings
Too Many Notifications
- Go to Settings → Notifications
- Turn off notification types you don't need
- Adjust reminder timing
- Enable Quiet Hours for off-work times
Notifications Not Making Sound
- Check your phone isn't on silent mode
- Verify notification sound is selected
- Check phone volume settings
- Ensure CareCade has sound permission

Stay Informed Without Overload
- Use quiet hours for off-work times
- Turn off low-priority notifications
- Set appropriate reminder timing
- Check the notification center periodically
