Your Dashboard Overview

The dashboard is your home base in CareCade. See your day at a glance, take quick actions, and stay on top of what's important. Here's everything you'll find on your dashboard.


Dashboard Layout

Your dashboard is divided into sections:

  1. Header - Today's date, your name, quick actions
  2. Today's Summary - Stats for the current day
  3. Current/Next Appointment - What's happening now or soon
  4. Quick Actions - Common tasks one tap away
  5. Notifications - Recent alerts and updates

Today's Summary

At the top of your dashboard, you'll see:

Appointments Count

  • Total appointments scheduled today
  • Number completed
  • Number remaining

Hours

  • Total scheduled hours today
  • Hours worked so far
  • Hours remaining

Status Indicator

A quick view of your day:

  • On Track - Everything is going smoothly
  • Attention - Something needs your attention
  • 🕐 Running Behind - You may be late for something

Current/Next Appointment Card

When You Have an Active Appointment

Shows your currently clocked-in appointment:

  • Client name and photo
  • Time remaining
  • Quick access to clock out
  • Link to appointment notes

When No Appointment Is Active

Shows your next upcoming appointment:

  • Client name and photo
  • Start time and countdown
  • Address with map link
  • Quick access to view details or clock in

When No More Appointments Today

Shows:

  • "All done for today!" message
  • Tomorrow's first appointment preview
  • Or "No appointments scheduled" if none

Quick Actions

One-tap access to common tasks:

Clock In

Available when you're at or near your next appointment location. Tap to start the appointment.

View Schedule

Opens your full schedule. See all upcoming appointments.

My Clients

Quick access to your assigned clients list.

Messages

Jump to your chat inbox. Badge shows unread count.

Time Off

Submit a time-off request or check request status.

Documents

Access your uploaded documents and credentials.

Notifications Section

Recent notifications appear on your dashboard:

Types You'll See

  • Schedule changes
  • New messages
  • Reminders
  • Announcements
  • Document alerts

Managing Notifications

  • Tap a notification to go to the related item
  • Swipe to dismiss
  • Tap "See All" for complete notification history

Status Cards

Depending on your situation, you may see special cards:

Clock-In Reminder

When you should be clocking in for an appointment. Shows:

  • Client name
  • Scheduled start time
  • How late you are
  • Quick clock-in button

Missed Clock-Out

When you forgot to clock out. Shows:

  • Appointment that's still active
  • Duration it's been running
  • Quick clock-out button

Document Due

When credentials or training are due. Shows:

  • What's due
  • Due date
  • Link to upload or complete

Time-Off Status

When you have a pending time-off request. Shows:

  • Dates requested
  • Current status
  • Link to view details

Customizing Your Dashboard

Reordering Sections

  1. Tap Edit in the top right
  2. Drag sections to reorder
  3. Tap Done to save

Hiding Sections

  1. Tap Edit in the top right
  2. Toggle off sections you don't need
  3. Tap Done to save

Widget Preferences

Some widgets have options:

  1. Tap the on a widget
  2. Select Settings
  3. Adjust preferences
  4. Save

Dashboard Data

Refreshing

The dashboard automatically updates when you:

  • Open the app
  • Return from another screen
  • Pull down to refresh

Real-Time Updates

Some data updates in real time:

  • Clock-in status
  • Message counts
  • Schedule changes

Others update every few minutes:

  • Appointment summaries
  • Hours worked

Using the Dashboard Effectively

Morning Routine

Start each day by:

  1. Opening the app
  2. Reviewing today's summary
  3. Checking any notifications
  4. Noting your first appointment time

Throughout the Day

Use the dashboard to:

  • See what's next without leaving the screen
  • Quick clock in when ready
  • Check for schedule changes
  • Stay on top of messages

End of Day

Before finishing:

  1. Confirm all appointments are complete
  2. Check you clocked out of everything
  3. Preview tomorrow's schedule
  4. Clear any pending notifications

Dashboard vs. Schedule

Use the Dashboard when:

  • You want a quick overview
  • You're focused on today
  • You need fast access to actions

Use the Schedule when:

  • You need to see multiple days
  • You're planning ahead
  • You need detailed appointment info

Troubleshooting

Dashboard Not Loading

  1. Check your internet connection
  2. Pull down to refresh
  3. Close and reopen the app
  4. Check if you're still logged in

Incorrect Information

  1. Pull down to refresh
  2. If still wrong, close and reopen app
  3. Contact administrator if discrepancy persists

Missing Appointments

  1. Ensure you're looking at the correct day
  2. Refresh the dashboard
  3. Check the full Schedule screen
  4. Contact administrator if appointments are missing
